ONEWOOD, an environmentally friendly natural timber substitute, is a sustainable innovation from Pacific Forest Products Pte Ltd. Founded and headquartered in Singapore, the company has expanded from our humble beginnings in 1988 to a multi-faceted enterprise focused on pre-fabrication, product manufacturing and trading.
Just like how the Singapore Pavilion is designed to have minimal impact to the environment, our company’s philosophy is to serve our customers’ needs using smart solutions that do not negatively impact the environment. It was this philosophy that gave rise to ONEWOOD, a Homogeneous Reconstituted Timber (HRT) product and a sustainable alternative to natural timber.
Made by upcycling wood fibers from fast-growing plantation trees to form a big block of hardwood material that can otherwise only be obtained from 80 – 100-year-old hardwood tropical trees, ONEWOOD is engineered with properties such as water resistance, heat resistance, termite resistance and outstanding dimensional stability, making it highly sought after by developers, architects, designers and furniture makers for its usability and durability. Its environmentally friendly production processes are also certified by the Singapore Green Label and the Singapore Green Building Council.
We are proud to be a part of the Singapore Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020, and to showcase our homegrown invention on a global platform. The Pavilion demonstrates the seamless integration and co-existence of nature and the built environment, featuring delightful, relaxing spaces where visitors can unwind and connect with nature. ONEWOOD is installed as flooring in the Pavilion, decking the pavilion’s meandering Canopy Walk that takes visitors through an interactive journey, and the Sky Market that will host visitors as they learn more about Singapore’s multi-faceted culture through food and programmes.
With ONEWOOD, we are able to allow the natural forests to flourish. It is our belief that if we can actively source for sustainable and viable ways to optimise our natural resources, we can be a part of the movement to combat climate change and create a green environment for our future. Through the smart integration of design, technology and nature, ONEWOOD is one of many innovations that support Singapore’s vision of shaping itself into a liveable, sustainable and resilient city of the future.
We can advance against global warming and create a greener future for all if we actively find sustainable and viable alternatives in the way we use our natural resources. Our strength and ability alone won't create an impact and achieve this goal. We need the world to contribute to this idea to make a difference.
