Dr Kristina Orehounig

Kristina Orehounig heads the Cooling Singapore project at the Singapore-ETH Centre, currently in its second phase (CS2.0). She is also heading of the Laboratory of Urban Energy Systems at Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) and leads the group of Multi-Energy Systems within the lab. In addition, she lectures at the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Kristina received her PhD degree from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria. Her research interests include the development of sustainable concepts in building design and operation, the integration of renewable energy systems, and the simulation and optimization of buildings and urban energy systems. Together with her team, she is developing modelling strategies in relation to multi-scale energy systems – from the building to the district and larger scales.
